Questions
Before you ship.
How long does mail-in desktop repair take?
Diagnosis within 1–2 business days of arrival. Most repairs ship back within 3–5 business days after you approve the estimate. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you the timeline before you approve. Need it faster? Select expedited service on the form.
Do you repair iMacs and all-in-ones by mail?
Yes. iMacs, Mac minis, and Windows all-in-ones from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others. Use the original box if you have it; all-in-one screens are the most fragile thing we receive.
Who pays for shipping?
You cover shipping to us. Return shipping is a flat insured rate that appears on your estimate, so you see the exact number before approving anything. Local pickup at our Blue Springs shop is free.
Is the $60 diagnostic applied to the repair?
No. The diagnostic covers testing and a written estimate that is yours to keep. If you approve the repair, the estimated price is what you pay. If you decline, the diagnostic and return shipping are the only charges.
Can you recover files from a dead hard drive?
Often, yes. Data recovery is quoted after evaluation, and if we can't recover your data, there's no recovery fee. Tell us on the form if the files are the priority.
Is my data safe?
We only open the files needed to diagnose and repair the problem, and we don't access anything beyond that without asking you first. Nothing is wiped, reset, or reinstalled without your written approval.
What if it's not worth fixing?
We'll tell you. If the repair cost isn't justified by the computer's value, the estimate says so, and you decide. We can transfer your data to a new computer for $150.
